Local disk intelligence

Clarus

Precise local disk intelligence for reviewing optimization candidates before any file operation.

How Clarus works

Evidence before action

Clarus analyzes and explains before it ever touches a file. Every candidate carries a visible reason and a confidence level, and nothing is moved to Trash without your explicit review.

  1. Scan

Clarus reads and classifies the folders you select. No files are changed.

  2. Explain

Each candidate appears with its type, size, and the specific reason Clarus flagged it — cache, stale build output, or a large file worth a second look.

  3. Review

You inspect candidates, exclude paths, and decide what to act on. Low-confidence items default to review, not selection.

  4. Act

Only after review does Clarus move selected items to Trash — never a permanent delete.

Why trust it

Built for review, not for trust-me automation

Dry-run first

Scans are read-only. Clarus classifies and estimates recovery before any action exists.

Review before Trash

No candidate is moved without an explicit, scoped confirmation from you.

Open source, MIT licensed

The source is public. Inspect what Clarus reads and how it classifies candidates.

Signed & notarized builds

Every release is signed and notarized so your OS can verify it before you run it.
